Professional Development Overview
Enchanted Circle Theater has been training teachers to integrate theater arts across the curriculum for over three decades. Our workshops offer both theoretical and practical applications for using theater arts as a dynamic teaching tool to engage and enhance learning in social studies, language arts, math and science.
Participants explore academic and social content themes through theater games, creative curriculum templates, and structured, interactive discussions. Teachers leave our workshops with an expanded repertoire of strategies to actively engage students, along with new tools to heighten creativity and productivity in the classroom.
ECT offers professional development programs for educators on several levels:
- The Institute for Arts Integration: In-depth training programs for educator within a region.
- Creative Classrooms: In-depth training for educators within a district or school.
- Full day or half day workshops in a variety of content areas.
“I often refer back to something you did that helped my students be aware of themselves in space. I love that my repertoire for calming my students, helping them focus attention- and manage themselves and their bodies, is growing. We have been playing the games that you taught us constantly.” ~ Teacher, Northampton

” My students are developing a sense of community and “themselves” that without the experience of the theater would not be possible. I see my students grow and shine, and that means the world to me.”
