Terre Vandale, MFA, is an arts educator, dance artist, and arts administrator who teaches in an intentionally diverse range of settings from universities to public schools to fine art museums to family shelters. As a teaching artist with Enchanted Circle, Terre facilitates award winning arts integration programs in school and community settings, including Youth Truth, a social justice theater ensemble for youth who have experienced foster care, and the Storm Drain Art Project, winner of the 2016 Massachusetts Commonwealth Award.
Terre’s choreographic and teaching practice expands assumptions about what dance is, who can dance, and where dance happens. Terre has performed and presented choreographic and video works nationally and internationally since 2001, and as a member of Anna Halprin’s dance company.
Terre is a lecturer for the Arts Extension Service at the University of Massachusetts Amherst where she teaches arts management. As an arts administrator, Terre has conceived and produced community art programs, performance tours, and arts education partnerships in California and Massachusetts since 2003.
A member of the International Interdisciplinary Artists Consortium, Terre is certified to teach Anna Halprin’s somatic approach to dance, and holds an MFA in Interdisciplinary Art from Goddard College, and a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College.
Who We Are
“Students that were struggling readers became narrators and learned to read with ease. The students gained so much confidence. They learned how to work together cooperatively, and the value in supporting each other. This was a tremendous learning experience for all of us.”
