Trudy Knowles, Ed. D.
In 2016, Trudy Knowles retired from twenty-two years as a member of the Education faculty at Westfield State University in Westfield, MA. She holds a Doctor of Education degree from the University of Tennessee.
Trudy is the author of What Every Middle School Teacher Should Know and The Kids Behind the Label: An Inside Look at ADHD for Classroom Teachers (Heinemann Pub. Co). She has consulted and presented workshops throughout the country on ADHD, arts integration, curriculum design, and ways to help students be successful in school by giving them voice and including them in the teaching/learning process.
Trudy has served on the Board of Directors of Enchanted Circle Theater since 2002 and also serves on their education committee.
When Trudy retired she had a plan. She wanted to dance more, make more music, write more, do more social justice work, and hang out more with her five children, three grandsons and one granddaughter. So far, her retirement has been a rousing success.
Trudy’s motto comes from a bumper sticker she once saw in up-state New York. It read, “Dance with Reckless Abandon.” That’s what she does.
Who We Are
” ECT awakens our minds, our imaginations, our bodies in breathing life into our curriculum. It is such a rich and fertile experience to participate in an ECT workshop.”
